A Kashan or Farahan rug with kork wool
195 x 131 cm 6,3 x 4,2 ft
West/Central Persia
Late 19th ct.
Light colors and and a decorative all over pattern with gracious flower sprays are among the many qualities of this beautiful piece with precious “kork” wool pile. Though the unusual border design, the drawing of the inner field flowers and the kork wool pile point towards a possible Kashan Mohtasham origin.
