South Persia

Fars province

Late 19th ct.

The Khamseh conferation consists of various tribes. Tipical features for the tribal rugs of the  south Persian zone are the “boteh” motifs, “checker board” finals, birds abstractions in center and border areas and a harmonious color scheme. The center motif is of strong tribal character. An unusual feature is the large size.
