Oasis of Gafsa

A Gafsa woolen textile from the Gafsa Oasis. The finely woven woolen blanket is decorated with geometic patterns in attractive natural dyes.

Gasfa textiles are woven using a dovetail technique making them finer and more supple to handle. Their designs often incorporate rows of figurative people and camel trains flanked above and below with rows of geometric panelling and banding.

The offered piece is exclusively decorated with triangolar ornaments and fine stripes that create a rythmic pattern.
